St Michael’s Folk Evening is held on the first Wednesday of July each year
WEDNESDAY 1st JULY 2026
Many of the people and groups involved in folk music and dance in the St Albans area get together to perform in the historic setting of St Michael’s village.
This year, around 6 groups will dance in open-air shows, while there is live music in the Six Bells St Albans, the churchyard.
We even have the church bells at 7.15, to “ring in” the merriment.
St Michael’s Street is closed to traffic from 8 till 10pm, to become the venue for around 32 dance shows, and St Michael’s Lower and Upper School yard is the site of the pupils’ Maypole.
